Rockford Museums
The Rockford Art Museum has one of the most impressive art collections in Illinois. It boasts 1,200 permanent pieces of 19th and 20th century American art. There are regularly changing displays providing a different experience with each visit.
Victorian style Swiss cottage housing woodwork, murals, along with the
furniture, artifacts from the 1800's.
Featuring over 180 hands on exhibits including a planitarium, working TV studio and other travelling exhibits.
See a 39 foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex skeletal, explore the relationships between predators and prey in the natural world. Visit the Dean and Nancy Olson Specimen Viewing Lab to see how specimens are prepared for the museum's collections and exhibits.
